Brainy-T1D: Exciting New Study to Learn More About Type 1 Diabetes in Young Children

BRAINY-T1D (Brain Research Alliance in Youth with Type 1 Diabetes) is a national study of children with or without Type 1 Diabetes (T1D) to better understand how blood sugar levels may affect the brain.

This study will look at how young children think and behave from the time of diagnosis and follow their development over the next 1 to 2 years. We will compare children with and without T1D.

Who Can Join

BRAINY-T1D is enrolling children with and without T1D. You along with your child may be able to help in this study if your child is:

  • Ages 4 to 9 years old
  • Willing to wear a smartwatch to track activity and sleep
  • Willing to complete puzzles and memory games

For children with T1D:

  • Diagnosed within the past 6 months
  • Willing to wear a continuous glucose monitor
